Economic responsibility and sustainable employment

As a non-profit public-benefit association, we promote the circular economy and its growth in the Tampere region, while at the same time offering work, training, and working life coaching to people in a difficult employment situation.

Sustainable economy and employment as a vital condition

Through our employment activities, we also influence, either directly or indirectly, the personal financial situation of our employees, strengthening it. In the operating community, employment and a rising employment rate increase economic growth and reduce public spending.

Work also increases an individual's independent financial coping and reduces the need for society's financial support.

We sell products so that we can employ people

It's important to us to build our economy on a foundation that is sustainable year after year. We want to create permanence for our activities and also take into account the changing world situation.

We cover the basic costs of our operations, such as rent, logistics, electricity, and water, with the proceeds from the second-hand stores. Customers' needs, demand, and the realities of our operating costs guide our work. We price products received as donations as cheaply as possible, but the pricing must also take into account that we can continue to do work that is important to us in the future.

Localness as a matter of the heart

We want to ensure that the benefit generated by our activities stays as effectively as possible within the Tampere economic area. We strive to promote the local circular economy by favoring local partners in the recycling and further processing of materials.

When we acquire products and services, we always give priority to local operators. In addition, we make significant donations of goods each year to local public-benefit operators.

Social enterprise

The Association for Finnish Work has granted Pirkanmaan kierrätys ja työtoiminta ry the Social Enterprise mark. Social enterprises commit to operating responsibly and bear social responsibility. The mark can be granted to a company that was founded to solve social or environmental problems.
