Pirkanmaan kierrätys ja työtoiminta ry strives to prevent exclusion and to promote the employment of people in a difficult employment situation in the open labor market.

Alongside work, we also offer training, personal guidance, working life coaching, and knowledge and skills related to managing everyday life.

About the association

A springboard toward working life

We offer meaningful and rewarding opportunities for employment and participation to young people, people with partial work ability, those who have long been outside the labor market, and others seeking their own path into the open labor market.

In 2022, our association had, in periods of varying length:

Work trial participants (1–3 months) 20 people
Pay-subsidized employees (3–12 months) 110 people

An estimated 20% of those employed with pay subsidies move on to the open labor market. The rest end up in training, supported work, pension arrangements, rehabilitative work activity, work trials, rehabilitation services (e.g. substance abuse or mental health services), or as job seekers.

The association as a learning environment

The reuse centers of Pirkanmaan kierrätys ja työtoiminta ry are also learning environments, consisting of on-the-job learning as well as cooperation between vocational institutions, associations, companies, and employment services.

In 2022, Pkt ry had over 20 people who completed various qualifications or parts of qualifications in the association's paid work, or were on an on-the-job learning period under a training agreement. We cooperate with various educational institutions to offer our employees the opportunity to train alongside work.

Social enterprise

The Association for Finnish Work has granted Pirkanmaan kierrätys ja työtoiminta ry the Social Enterprise mark. Social enterprises commit to operating responsibly and bear social responsibility. The mark can be granted to a company that was founded to solve social or environmental problems.

What goods can I donate to you?

We accept intact, tidy and recyclable household and commercial goods.

We also accept small batches of clean, intact, usable textiles and clothing at the Nekala and Lielahti reuse centers.

Larger batches of usable, intact and tidy clothing can be donated directly to Nextiili in Lielahti, Sellukatu 21.

What we accept

How do I donate goods for reuse?

You can bring donations to our stores during their opening hours, or order a pickup service for larger items or batches of goods using the form tai puhelimitse 045 882 4066.

Along with transport we also offer, when needed, an affordable waste station service for goods that are not suitable for the stores or for the association's reuse. This way the customer can, if they wish, easily get rid of the entire batch of goods at once.

Can you deliver my purchases to my home?

Yes. You can order affordable home delivery at the store checkout when making your purchase. The price depends on the distance.

Where can I take goods that are not suitable for reuse?

Tarjoamme maksullista jäteasemapalvelua niille tavaroille, jotka eivät ole uudelleenkäyttökelpoisia tai eivät kuulu kierrätyskeskusvalikoimaan. Voit myös itse toimittaa kierrätykseen kelpaamattomat tavarat lajiteltuna paikallisille jäteasemille tai jätepisteille.
